MICHAEL PHELPS

My blog is about Michael Phelps.Michael Fred Phelps is an American swimmer, considered by many the best swimmer in history, having achieved the best result for an athlete in the Olympic Games with the achievement of eight gold medals at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, totaling well, so far, fourteen gold medals in his Olympic participation.

Phelps was born and raised in Baltimore County, located in the state of Maryland in the United States of America. His father, Fred Phelps, worked for the Maryland State Police, and his mother, Deborah Sue "Debbie" Davisson Phelps, is director of school. Michael has two older sisters, Whitney and Hilary. Both were swimmers as well.

He started swimming at age seven, partly because of the influence of his sisters, and to discharge energy.

Soon excelled as a swimmer since the age of ten years, broke a national record in his age group. Later he continued to break records of this kind and, thanks to its improvement, soon got to qualify for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games at the age of 15.
